A downloadable game for Windows

Note: Sugarcore is supposed to run capped at 30 FPS, but something about modern devices is making it run too fast. Some levels may not be completable. One player has reported success using OldCPUSimulator to run it properly; the "mid-2000s" setting should be sufficient.

Find out where sweets really come from as you mine licorice, demolish candy orbs, and defend confections from attack! Three quirky characters guide you through 18 levels of sugary goodness.

This is an early Flash game from Gregory Avery-Weir, released in 2008 and now available as a downloadable projector for the first time.

If you donate at least $5, you can download full source code and resources for the game. If you're interested in the source for more than one game, check out my Flash Source Code Collection.

Rotate the candy orbs with your mouse and click to advance dialogue. When a bullet hits the orb, candy bits are released! Release candy bits to increase your score! If a bullet hits the red core of an orb, the orb will explode and the level will end!
Different characters give you different types of goals:
MINING:
Collect a certain amount of candy before time runs out!
DEMOLITION:
Destroy the orb by hitting the core before time runs out!
SURVIVAL:
Keep the orb from exploding until time runs out!
Succeed at levels to unlock new levels!
Some orbs have special materials in them! These will be explained the first time they appear!

Please note: source code is provided without license or support. It might not compile at all, as it may be missing third-party resources.
